Membership Requirements

Becoming a member of the Friends of the Yukon Wild Horses Society means joining a dedicated community of individuals committed to protecting and advocating for the wild horses of the Yukon. As a member, you will have the opportunity to contribute to our mission, stay informed about our initiatives, and participate in important discussions regarding the future of these magnificent animals.


Membership Criteria

To become a member, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  1. Commitment to Our Mission
    • Members must support the Society’s mission to monitor, document, study, and create public awareness to protect Yukon’s wild horses.
  2. Age Requirement
    • Membership is open to individuals aged 18 and older. Minors may participate in select activities with parental or guardian consent.
  3. Application Process
    • Prospective members must complete a membership application form and provide any necessary supporting information.
  4. Annual Membership Fee (Put on hold)
    • Members may be required to pay an annual fee to support the Society’s operations and conservation efforts. Details on fee structure will be provided upon application.
  5. Code of Conduct
    • Members must adhere to the Society’s code of conduct, which includes treating fellow members with respect, upholding ethical wildlife observation practices, and promoting positive advocacy for wild horses.
  6. Active Participation
    • Members are required to contribute a minimum of 10 hours of volunteering per year. This can include activities such as attending meetings, fundraising, fieldwork, or spreading awareness about Yukon’s wild horses.
